PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT

Public Involvement has played an essential role in designing a bridge that meets the community’s needs while remaining financially feasible. The project engaged the communities of Milton and Madison through public meetings, a Project Advisory Group (PAG) and ongoing consultation with project stakeholders. Stakeholders are defined as any individual or group with an interest in the project, such as property owners, business owners, elected officials or neighborhood associations.
PAG members act as representatives for project stakeholders. The PAG’s role is to provide input to KYTC and INDOT. While the states are responsible for making the final decisions, they consider input from the PAG, technical analyses, engineering studies and community feedback.
